"Of all Holy Works, the education of children is the most Holy."
- Bishop Theophan the Recluse
Patron Saint of Holy Cross Preschool
To provide a developmental, play-based, and faith-based preschool for children, their parents and teachers, that stimulates intellectual curiosity while emphasizing responsibility to themselves, their families, their peers, and their communities.
At Holy Cross Preschool, we believe that a developmental, play-based and faith-based preschool with a skilled and supported teaching staff is the optimal preschool environment in which children grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. We also believe that a supportive partnership between the child, their family, and our school community is an imperative and integral component to this endeavor. With these foundational components at our core, Holy Cross Preschool will embrace and honor the children and their families as we support and encourage the growth and development of the whole child placing particular emphasis on cultivating emotional intelligence and personal responsibility.
Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and emotionally responsive. Children are encouraged to think, ask questions, experiment, solve problems, and work cooperatively.
"The best part about Holy Cross Preschool is that we learned so much but we didn't
even know we were learning."

Holy Cross Preschool is open to all children who may benefit from our program regardless of race, nationality, or creed. Families do not need to be registered members of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross for their children to attend. Children must meet the minimum age requirement for their chosen program, be completely potty-trained, able to effectively communicate their needs and be ready for group experiences. Admission is based on availability with preference given to continuing students, siblings of continuing students, alumni families, Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross members, and then new applicants.
Please contact the school to schedule a half hour visit for you and your child. Tours begin in November for the upcoming school-year and will be limited to one family at a time. Once you and your child have visited the school, you will be given the opportunity to complete an application form for the upcoming school year. A non-refundable application fee will be due at that time. Families visiting prior to February 15th will be notified of placement in mid-February of the enrollment year. Families visiting after February 15th will be informed immediately of placement opportunities.
Holy Cross Preschool operates on a school-year calendar. Our School Year begins the last week of August and runs until the first Thursday of June. A holiday and events schedule will be distributed at the beginning of the school year. Click here to download the 2018-19 Holy Cross Preschool Holiday and Events Calendar.
Our teachers are professionals who are dedicated, caring and trained in Early Childhood Education and Development. Additionally, the center director is experienced in evaluating the needs of your child, communicating with parents, and staff management. At all times, there will be a person trained in CPR and First Aid at the center. All staff participate in in-service and/or off-site training and education in order to remain alert to the ever-changing needs of families and the current findings of Early Childhood Education research.
